Justin woke up from his nap all happy and talkative. It’s not that unusual, but to my surprise, he had a lot more to be happy about today. He managed to free an arm and two legs from his SwaddleMe bundle (i.e. the burrito wrap) and I have no idea how he did it…. He seemed pretty proud too. Mighty impressive, son.

My dad gave us a Bowflex over the holidays, which we really appreciated because we’re trying to make healthier lifestyle choices as we grow older. While we were setting up, I thought it’d be a perfect time to experiment with some time lapse photos. My camera was set up to fire remotely and the finished pictures were strung together in sequence to give a sense of motion. Check it out and see what you think. I can imagine lots of other uses for this…
And of course, we now have an in+house gym with free membership to all household guests!
Recently, Brendan from Fishworks Engineering made an incredibly humorous and insightful discovery… computer hard drives dramatically decrease in performance when they are yelled at. Lesson be learned: don’t yell at your hard drive, it will hurt its feelings. 
A funny thing happened this morning… Our dog, Patches, was attacked by falling debris hurled by an angry squirrel. This little guy even yelled at my wife for a couple minutes and then posed nicely for me to take a picture of him. Stranger things have happened…
My trusty f1.8 50mm lens died unexpectantly this Saturday. It’s been with me for six years and was the best cheap lens I’ve ever had. The funeral will be tomorrow just before the garage truck comes…
Or more specifically, “The Rice Eater and the Irresponsible Dog Owners.” Every morning, Patches jumps up and down and eagerly awaits her breakfast as the end of our morning routine (her reward for obeying). But this morning we discovered the dog food container was… empty. At a loss as to what to do for our poor dog – who is still jumping up and down at this point – we made Patches a breakfast of rice and crushed doggie treats. She looks a little sad, but that’s because she’s concentrating very hard at getting all that rice into her hair.
Tonight was Millard North’s Prom, and we got to send off Kameron’s brother, Jordan, and a few of his friends. There was a mob of parents armed with camera’s and camcorders. It was like paparazzi at a red carpet event with a steady stream of flashes… We were glad we got a few of our own shots before we got there!
We grabbed some quick shots in a Wal-Mart parking lot, complete with a shopping cart and an umbrella (cause it was cold and rainy again). We also had fun experimenting with a promo idea for our new favorite coffee shop, Fox Hollow Coffee on 115th and Blondo. We’ll be creating and displaying new artwork featuring their coffee cups in fun and different ways. If you get a chance to stop by, we highly recommend their coffee (and smoothies!).
In case you haven’t been following the campaign trails, Mr. Obama just won South Carolina for the Democratic Primary. Regardless of political views, I’ve got to hand it to a guy who can talk intelligently about the issues and still be a little silly with David Letterman. Check out his top ten presidential promises…
