Welcome to our blog! Based in Omaha, Nebraska, Kameron Bayne Images, Inc. is a professionally trained, award winning, creative and relational-driven photography studio. We are available for worldwide travel and aspire to create cinematic images with a soul, depth, and geniune character.

Although life extends far beyond our jobs, we are humbled and filled with gratitude photography is the kind of work that can express the intangible qualities of life and inspire us to live it more fully.  It is our belief that real life inspires beautiful, creative art and the more honest that art is, the more it inspires better living.  With this blog, we hope to explore the art form of photography, to grow as people, and find ways to contribute to the ever changing community of our world.  Along the way, we hope to provide a glimpse into the daily life of our studio. If you join us and read along for a while, we’d be honored if you let us know and bless us with a comment or two!

Kameron Bayne, Photographer
With an educational background in philosophy, theology, interpersonal communication and conflict resolution, the first thing you may notice about Kameron is he’s awful at small talk.  But don't let that fool you!  He really enjoys getting to know people and has a gift for sorting out complicated ideas. A true artist at heart, the beauty he sees in life is inspired most by the invisible qualities of love, faith, and hope. Once behind the camera, his quiet presence becomes a source of confidence for our clients as they invite him into a small, but significant part of their lives.

Heather Bayne, Viewing Director
Heather is a genuinely caring, technical savvy, task accomplisher and problem solver (she used to take calculus classes in college just for fun!). With a positive and upbeat attitude, she heads up each viewing premiere. She also maintains the back-end of our computer systems, helps occasionally with retouching or album design and corrects Kameron when he mispronounces words.

Brenda Block, Client Relations
Disarming, outgoing and generous–Brenda loves people and can often be found chatting with anyone from the corner grocery store clerk to the CEO of a fortune 500 company. She will be the one to help you get acquainted with our studio and walk through the entire creation process. She’ll also be there at the end to ensure you had a wonderful experience working with us.

We did our Signature Session with Nate and had a great time getting to know him – and the images turned out great too! For day one, we started in his room (which he converted into his very own recording studio) and finished in a controlled lighting environment (our studio). Day two, we ran around downtown chasing the light and ended up on a back highway outside of town just in time to catch the sunset. The last image is my favorite! It’s how I think of Nate – fun-loving, good natured, and just plain cool. Who else can pull off wearing a “NERD” shirt?

Omaha Bridal Show Announcement

Because of a last minute opening, we decided to join the Omaha Bridal Show next week – Sunday, September 30, 2007. If you are interested or know someone who is interested in knowing more about what we do, we’ll be there with general information, samples of prints and albums, and of course, we’ll be able to answer any and all questions in person. Maybe we’ll see you there!

PPN 2007 Fall Conference

The PPN, or Professional Photographers of Nebraska, is an affiliate organization of PPA (Professional Photographers of America), this weekend was the fall conference in Grand Island, NE. I drove out with Will and we stopped to take some pictures along the way…

Between Omaha and Grand Island

The actual conference was a blast too! I met some great local photographers like Keith and Holly Howe of Photographic Images in NorthPlatte, Jeff Bauman of Bauman Photography in Lincoln, Bob and Angie Alberts of Fowler Photography in Ogallala, Jessica Galaska, Shane and Erin Melenbacker of Melenbacker Photography from Kearney, Ron Deyo of Deyo’s Photography, and more. A special thanks goes out to J. Michael McBride for introducing me to such a friendly, welcoming and inspiring group of people – thank you! I also met a great bunch of vendors from Unique Photographic Equipment, Miller’s Professional Imaging, ACI (American Color Imaging), and Burrell Colour Imaging. But the best part of the conference was Bryan Welsh of MIT Studio in Oregon and Mike Fulton of TriCoast Photography in Texas.Bryan was a deep thinker and amazing communicator – I gained so much from listening to him describe the process of creativity, from conception to formation to an end product that’s treasured by our clients. Sometime later, I’ll have to devote a post to fleshing out his ideas because they really moved me. Mike was a typical guy’s guy – a little rough around the edges, but yet extremely relationally astute and just plain fun to be around. He had a system for on-location, studio-quality lighting that just blew me away – suddenly the doors that limit the possibilities of the still image have been opened. Thank you Mike and Bryan!

A Day Off

Today was my first official day off in long, long time… and it breathed life into my soul. I had breakfast with an old friend, enjoyed Chipotle for lunch, got caught up on some reading, and took some pictures just for fun. This one [picture] in particular captured something for me – something about the simple beauty that is all around, if only I open my eyes and allow it to change my perspective of the world. It fills me with gratitude to just be alive.

Heather’s Eye

Heather is learning how to use the camera; she took this portrait of me downtown. I think she’s getting pretty darn good – I don’t think I could of done it better. She’s well on her way to calling herself a “photographer” too.

CBS Home Real Estate

The very first Kameron Bayne Images in-studio photo shoot was with Shane Kouba and his Team at CBS Home Real Estate. From what I understand, they’ve been the company’s top sellers in Omaha a couple months in a row. Speaking from personal experience (Heather and I are proud home owners thanks to the Kouba Team), I think these guys – and gal – are great at what they do!

Not only are they friendly, competent, and incredibly knowledgeable about the real estate and housing market, but they’re also quite funny when you put them all together. We had a great time photographing everyone — even Will sat in on a few for lighting tests. And Will’s girlfriend, Trish (another Hallmark Grad), took some “behind-the-scene” shots.

The very best part, of course, is the final product… and I think it turned out great!

Lake Manawa

This weekend we got together with friends in our community at Lake Manawa playground. I got a chance to steal Kameron’s camera and capture a few pictures. My favorite was this first one of Esther, a beautiful girl with a charming personality. Kameron caught her playing football, and with her dad as well. I enjoyed playing with Esther, and learning about the camera!
